Is it worth becoming a mechanic?

This question is dependent on your life goals. If you are looking to make money, then yes. But if meaning and purpose is what you seek, then no.

It's not worth learning mechanics if you don’t have the skills. You'll waste your time. It's not going make you millionaire. It will not make you famous. It's unlikely that it will change your life.

You'd need to spend years learning how everything works. It would be expensive to have your car fixed by someone else. Most people won't bother to do it. They find something they enjoy instead.

You can make a lot of money if you are looking to do well. However, if you want to have a meaningful and fulfilling life, avoid the mechanic's trade.

Is it important which college I go?

No, not really. There's no difference between colleges regarding getting into the automotive industry. Some schools have better programs than others, so you might want to look elsewhere if your goal is something more specialized.

How do I fix my vehicle as a hobby?

Take up a hobby in car repair if you have an interest. You could learn how to repair them, buy parts for them, sell them or just enjoy them. If you are looking for something more, it would be an excellent hobby.

But it is not easy to turn this into your full-time occupation. It requires hard work and dedication. Also, you will need to put a lot of money into it.

So unless you have a good reason for wanting to get involved with cars, then it might be best to leave it alone.
